Advancing Success

An Employers Forum on Urban Indigenous Youth and The Labour Market

February 15-16, 2023 | Gatineau, Québec

Hilton Lac-Leamy Hotel

Across the world, organizations and groups are advancing action to ensure young people have access to decent work.

Join the National Association of Friendship Centres as we gather members, employers, youth, government, practitioners and community leaders on the traditional and unceded territory of the Algonquin Nation for an Employers Forum to advance the success of urban Indigenous youth in the labour market.

The forum will provide a key platform in Canada for dialogue on decent work–a key component across the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals–contributing to the global goals and assisting countries in responding to youth labour market challenges. The forum will engage directly with employers and provide knowledge sharing and best practices on advancing meaningful youth employment in the labour market, specifically investing in the success of urban Indigenous youth.

Forum Agenda

The agenda will provide opportunities for attendees to explore and learn from urban Indigenous youth perspectives, connect and network with Indigenous jobseekers, communities and organizations, and engage in peer-to-peer knowledge sharing. By gathering a diverse range of actors, the forum aims to promote effective, innovative and evidence-based strategies and interventions to address the employment challenge for urban Indigenous youth.

To increase action and impact at all levels, the agenda will include:
