Research
Friendship Centres are using research to leverage funds to access or continue to access funding for programs and services, create better partnerships with other service organizations, researchers, community members and government, and create research that feeds back into the community to improve the quality of life for the urban Indigenous population. The National Association of Friendship Centres (NAFC) employs a trauma-informed, intersectional lens in our For Indigenous, By Indigenous approach to research.
The NAFC supports communities to engage in community-driven research ethically and meaningfully by building and supporting community capacity. Capacity building remains a top priority for the NAFC and the research department. We continue to build upon our exciting networks and branch out for new partnerships.
