CALLING ALL INSPIRING PHOTOGRAPHERS WITHIN THE FRIENDSHIP CENTRE MOVEMENT!
We are very excited to launch our first-ever Friendship Centre Movement (FCM) Photo Contest! Enter now for your chance to win some incredible prizes!
The NAFC is launching a brand new website this summer and we are looking for photos of the FCM to showcase on our website! What makes the FCM so special? What has been your experience within the FCM? We are looking for all types of photos - events, cultural activities, programs, services, workshops, portraits, and more!
Photos submitted through this contest may also be used in future NAFC communications materials.

The NAFC will award 1 Grand Prize and 8 Regional Prizes:
- Grand Prize: Canon EOS Rebel T7 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm IS Lens Kit
- Regional Prizes: $200 Gift Card to Staples or Best Buy

Contest Rules
Term: The Friendship Centre Movement Photo Contest begins on June 16, 2021 and ends on July 16, 2021. By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the contest and states that he or she is 18 years old or older.
Entry deadline: All entries must be received on July 16, 2021 by 5:00 p.m. EDT.
Who may enter: The Friendship Centre Movement Photo Contest is open to all urban Indigenous people within the Friendship Centre Movement. Please indicate which Friendship Centre or Provincial/Territorial Association you are connected to on the entry form. The contestant certifies that he/she is the sole creator and copyright owner of the submitted photograph.
Judging: Photo entries will be judged based on creativity, quality, originality, responsiveness to the prompt and overall impact. The NAFC will determine winners’ eligibility in its sole discretion. The NAFC will notify winners via the contact information provided at the time of entry. The NAFC may disqualify anyone who fails to respond to the notification within five business days. In the event of a dispute regarding the winners, the NAFC reserves the right to award or not award the prizes in its sole discretion. Decisions of the NAFC are final and binding.
Prizes:
- Grand Prize: Should the NAFC be unavailable to purchase the Canon EOS Rebel T7 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm IS Lens Kit for any reason, the NAFC reserves the right to choose a similar style camera at their own discretion.
- Regional Prize: One winner from each of the following regions will be awarded a $200 gift card to Best Buy or Staples. Winners will be given the opportunity to choose which gift card they would like to receive. The NAFC has created the following 8 regions:
- North - Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut
- British Columbia
- Alberta
- Manitoba
- Saskatchewan
- Ontario
- Quebec
- Atlantic – Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick
Photo Usage: By entering the contest, you grant the NAFC royalty-free, world-wide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to:
- The NAFC website
- External and internal publications (reports, presentations, press releases, briefing notes, articles, newsletter, emails, etc.)
- Print advertising
- Social Media
- NAFC 50th Anniversary celebration communications
Photo Credit: Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. The NAFC will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
Photograph requirements: High resolution images are preferred.
- must be submitted in .JPEG, .JPGor .PNGformats
- must be a minimum of 2500 pixels on the short edge
- must be a minimum of 250 dpi
- must be smaller than 5 MB
Please upload images with the original pixel size (unless cropped). Do not scale and do not change the resolution.
Contest Rules: The NAFC reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion.
