What is the Bridging Across Canada database?

The Bridging Across Canada database application is designed by and for Friendship Centres. It empowers Friendship Centres to collect disaggregated data about their service offerings, centralizes data management, automates statistical reports and so much more.

The Bridging Across Canada database application started off as a pilot project funded through a Partnership between the NAFC, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre, and Membertou Geomatics Solutions, an Indigenous-led company, responsible for the database development. In September 2023, the pilot project project came to an end. The administrative ownership of the database application has been transferred to the NAFC, effective October 1st, 2023, in recognition of its remarkable success.

Who is a part of the Bridging Across Canada database?

As of October 2023, the Atlantic region has five Centers on board, Saskatchewan hosts one Center, Alberta accommodates two Centers, and British Columbia has one centre actively utilizing the database, with numerous others expressing interest.
