NWAC Faceless Doll Workshop, July 29th, Whitehorse, YK as part of NAFC AGM

Jul 16, 2012

Please see the information below regarding a great event happening in Whitehorse, YK on Sunday, July 29th as part of the 41st National Association of Friendship Centres AGM. A poster for this workshop can be found here.

This event is geared towards service providers, Aboriginal leadership and the Aboriginal community at large. Non-Aboriginal community members are also encouraged to attend to learn more about the issue of missing and murdered Aboriginal women and girls in Canada.

The NWAC Faceless Doll Project is a new project, a collection of faceless felt dolls made by the public that will be used to create a traveling art exhibit in memory of the more than 600 missing and murdered Aboriginal women and girls in Canada. Come and hear the Faceless Doll story and create your very own doll for inclusion in this commemorative art project.

More information on the Faceless Doll project can be found at http://www.nwac.ca/programs/faceless-doll-project-each-statistic-tells-story

Please register your seat for this workshop with Jennifer at jrankin@nwac.ca to ensure that we have enough seats. We will also be sharing a meal together after the workshop.
We look forward to seeing you all there.
